Summer 2013 Colorado retro reports

As described on the Retro Reports info page, I plan to incorporate hiking trips from the past along with current hikes, and will backdate the reports so they can be organized by actual hike dates. However, I plan to write these “retro reports” in batches and upload them en masse to make it easier and I don’t want to directly mix new stuff with tons of old stuff. James Peak is one of the more straightforward 13ers in northern Colorado, but I had never quite managed to climb it yet.  I wanted to use the more remote route from the north to pick up other peaks on the same day, but that is a much longer drive than a popular route from the east.
